December 11, 1973: Traded by the Chicago White Sox with a player to be named later, Ken Frailing and Steve Stone to the Chicago Cubs for Ron Santo. The Chicago White Sox sent Jim Kremmel (December 18, 1973) to the Chicago Cubs to complete the trade.

December 8, 1977: Traded by the Chicago Cubs with Jerry Morales and cash to the St. Louis Cardinals for Hector Cruz and Dave Rader.

December 8, 1980: Traded by the St. Louis Cardinals with Terry Kennedy, John Littlefield, Al Olmsted, Mike Phillips, Kim Seaman and John Urrea to the San Diego Padres for a player to be named later, Rollie Fingers, Bob Shirley and Gene Tenace. The San Diego Padres sent Bob Geren (December 10, 1980) to the St. Louis Cardinals to complete the trade.
