June 14, 1956: Traded by the New York Yankees with Eddie Robinson to the Kansas City Athletics for Moe Burtschy, Bill Renna and cash.

November 20, 1957: Traded by the Kansas City Athletics with Billy Martin, Mickey McDermott, Tom Morgan, Tim Thompson and Gus Zernial to the Detroit Tigers for a player to be named later, Kent Hadley, Frank House, Duke Maas, Jim Small, John Tsitouris and Bill Tuttle. The Detroit Tigers sent Jim McManus (April 3, 1958) to the Kansas City Athletics to complete the trade.

December 1, 1958: Drafted by the Chicago White Sox from the Detroit Tigers in the 1958 rule 5 draft.

May 1, 1959: Traded by the Chicago White Sox with Don Rudolph to the Cincinnati Redlegs for Del Ennis.
