December 13, 1988: Traded by the Boston Red Sox with a player to be named later and Todd Benzinger to the Cincinnati Reds for a player to be named later, Nick Esasky and Rob Murphy. The Boston Red Sox sent Luis Vasquez (minors) (January 12, 1989) to the Cincinnati Reds to complete the trade.
