June 4, 1990: Drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2nd round of the 1990 amateur draft. Player signed June 8, 1990.

August 31, 1992: Traded by the Baltimore Orioles with a player to be named later to the San Diego Padres for a player to be named later and Craig Lefferts. The Baltimore Orioles sent Ricky Gutierrez (September 4, 1992) to the San Diego Padres to complete the trade.
