April 2, 2000: Purchased by Monterrey (Mexican) from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

February 22, 2001: Purchased by the Boston Red Sox from Monterrey (Mexican).

November 28, 2003: Traded by the Boston Red Sox with Michael Goss (minors), Casey Fossum and Brandon Lyon to the Arizona Diamondbacks for Curt Schilling.

December 1, 2003: Traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks with Chris Capuano, Craig Counsell, Chad Moeller, Lyle Overbay and Junior Spivey to the Milwaukee Brewers for a player to be named later, Shane Nance and Richie Sexson. The Milwaukee Brewers sent Noochie Varner (minors) (December 15, 2003) to the Arizona Diamondbacks to complete the trade.

July 25, 2006: Traded by the Milwaukee Brewers to the Kansas City Royals for Tony Graffanino.
