August 30, 1937: Purchased by the Boston Bees from Indianapolis (American Association).

August 10, 1938: Traded by the Boston Bees with players to be named later, Gil English and cash to the New York Yankees for players to be named later and Eddie Miller. The Boston Bees sent Bobby Reis (October 27, 1938), Tommy Reis (October 27, 1938), Johnny Babich (October 27, 1938) and Vince DiMaggio (February 4, 1939) to the New York Yankees to complete the trade.
