Before 1893 Season: Purchased by the Baltimore Orioles from San Francisco (California) for $300.

December 10, 1897: Traded by the Baltimore Orioles with Doc Amole and Jack Doyle to the Washington Senators for Gene DeMontreville, Dan McGann and Doc McJames.

December 14, 1898: Traded by the Washington Senators to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Jack O'Brien, Dick Padden and Jimmy Slagle.

March, 1900: Traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates to Milwaukee (American Association) for a player to be named later. Milwaukee (American Association) sent Harry Smith (September, 1900) to the Pittsburgh Pirates to complete the trade.
