time before he returns to the big leagues, reports Jesse Sanchez, of MLB.com. 'If I am healthy, I will find a way,' Delgado said. 'I know how to play. I don't want to retire. The reason why I put myself through three surgeries in 18 months is because I want to play. Otherwise, I would have just hung it up.' Delgado appeared in five games for Triple-A Pawtucket in the Boston Red Sox organization in August, but had discomfort and was forced to have a third hip surgery in September. He has not appeared in the major leagues since May 10, 2009.
