September 17, 1996: Signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks as an amateur free agent.

December 13, 1999: Sent by the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Florida Marlins to complete an earlier deal made on July 8, 1999. The Arizona Diamondbacks sent a player to be named later, Vladimir Nunez and Brad Penny to the Florida Marlins for a player to be named later and Matt Mantei. The Arizona Diamondbacks sent Abraham Nunez (December 13, 1999) to the Florida Marlins to complete the trade.

July 31, 2004: Traded by the Florida Marlins to the Kansas City Royals for Rudy Seanez.

March 31, 2005: Selected off waivers by the Seattle Mariners from the Kansas City Royals.
