June 5, 1989: Drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 3rd round of the 1989 amateur draft, but did not sign.

June 1, 1992: Drafted by the Houston Astros in the 1st round (1st pick) of the 1992 amateur draft. Player signed June 18, 1992.

August 15, 1995: Sent by the Houston Astros to the Detroit Tigers to complete an earlier deal made on August 10, 1995. The Houston Astros sent a player to be named later to the Detroit Tigers for Mike Henneman.

November 20, 1997: Traded by the Detroit Tigers with Matt Walbeck to the Anaheim Angels for Nick Skuse (minors).

March 29, 1999: Traded by the Anaheim Angels with Keith Volkman (minors) to the San Diego Padres for Gus Kennedy (minors) and Andy Sheets.
