March 13, 1990: Traded by the New York Yankees to the Houston Astros for a player to be named later and Dave Silvestri. The Houston Astros sent Daven Bond (minors) (June 11, 1990) to the New York Yankees to complete the trade.

December 10, 1996: Traded by the Houston Astros with Doug Brocail, Brian Hunter, Todd Jones and cash to the Detroit Tigers for Brad Ausmus, Jose Lima, Trever Miller, C.J. Nitkowski and Daryle Ward.
