February 23, 2004: Selected off waivers by the St. Louis Cardinals from the Milwaukee Brewers.

August 11, 2004: Sent by the St. Louis Cardinals to the Colorado Rockies to complete an earlier deal made on August 6, 2004. The St. Louis Cardinals sent players to be named later and Jason Burch (minors) to the Colorado Rockies for players to be named later and Larry Walker. The St. Louis Cardinals sent Luis Martinez (August 11, 2004) and Chris Narveson (August 11, 2004) to the Colorado Rockies to complete the trade.
