December 8, 2005: Traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Boston Red Sox for Edgar Renteria and cash.

January 27, 2006: Traded by the Boston Red Sox with a player to be named later, Guillermo Mota, Kelly Shoppach and cash to the Cleveland Indians for a player to be named later, Josh Bard, Coco Crisp and David Riske. The Boston Red Sox sent Randy Newsom (minors) (July 21, 2006) to the Cleveland Indians to complete the trade.
