Before 1950 Season: Signed by the Chicago White Sox as an amateur free agent.

December 3, 1957: Traded by the Chicago White Sox with Larry Doby, Jack Harshman and Russ Heman to the Baltimore Orioles for Tito Francona, Billy Goodman and Ray Moore.

August 23, 1958: Selected off waivers by the Chicago Cubs from the Baltimore Orioles.

November 21, 1959: Traded by the Chicago Cubs with Dave Hillman to the Boston Red Sox for Dick Gernert.

March 16, 1960: Traded by the Boston Red Sox with Sammy White to the Cleveland Indians for Russ Nixon. Sammy White refused to report to his new team on March 25, 1960. Trade was voided and players returned on March 25, 1960.

March 29, 1960: Traded by the Boston Red Sox to the San Francisco Giants for Al Worthington.

October 13, 1961: Purchased by the New York Mets from the San Francisco Giants.

May 7, 1962: Traded by the New York Mets to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Vinegar Bend Mizell.

October 12, 1962: Released by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
