The Kansas City Royals sent a player to be named later to the New York Mets. The Chicago Cubs sent Pete LaCock to the Kansas City Royals. The New York Mets sent Jim Dwyer to the Chicago Cubs.

April 4, 1977: Purchased by the Oakland Athletics from the New York Mets.

March 25, 1978: Traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Toronto Blue Jays for Steve Staggs.

March 27, 1979: Sent by the Toronto Blue Jays to the Cleveland Indians to complete an earlier deal made on November 3, 1978. The Toronto Blue Jays sent a player to be named later to the Cleveland Indians for Dave Freisleben.
