Before 1915 Season: Jumped from the St. Louis Cardinals to the Brooklyn Tip-Tops.

January 14, 1916: Purchased by the New York Yankees from the Brooklyn Tip-Tops for $22,500.

July 15, 1917: Traded by the New York Yankees to the St. Louis Browns for Armando Marsans.

March 18, 1918: Traded as part of a 3-team trade by the St. Louis Browns to the Cincinnati Reds. The New York Yankees sent Tim Hendryx to the St. Louis Browns. The Cincinnati Reds sent a player to be named later to the New York Yankees. The Cincinnati Reds sent Tommy Clarke (April 25, 1918) to the New York Yankees to complete the trade.

April 18, 1919: Purchased by the Brooklyn Robins from the Cincinnati Reds.

June 2, 1919: Traded by the Brooklyn Robins to the Chicago Cubs for Pete Kilduff.
