October 25, 1973: Traded by the Texas Rangers with Vic Harris to the Chicago Cubs for Fergie Jenkins.

February 11, 1977: Traded by the Chicago Cubs with Rob Sperring to the San Francisco Giants for Andy Muhlstock (minors), Bobby Murcer and Steve Ontiveros.

June 28, 1979: Traded by the San Francisco Giants with Len Randle and Dave Roberts to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Fred Breining, Al Holland and Ed Whitson.

August 31, 1985: Traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Los Angeles Dodgers for . The Los Angeles Dodgers sent R.J. Reynolds (September 3, 1985), Cecil Espy (September 9, 1985) and Sid Bream (September 9, 1985) to the Pittsburgh Pirates to complete the trade.
