May 28, 1959: Traded by the Milwaukee Braves with Earl Hersh to the Detroit Tigers for Al Paschal (minors) and Charley Lau. Al Paschal (minors), Earl Hersh and Charley Lau returned to original teams on May 28, 1959. Joe Lonnett refused to report to his new team.

June 18, 1959: Purchased by the Philadelphia Phillies from the Milwaukee Braves.
