Before 1940 Season: Sent from Dover Beach (Eastern Shore) to the Philadelphia Phillies in an unknown transaction.

August 14, 1941: Traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Brooklyn Dodgers for John S. Bell (minors), Ray Roche (minors), Joe Becker and George Staller.

May 3, 1947: Traded by the Brooklyn Dodgers with Hank Behrman, Kirby Higbe, Gene Mauch and Cal McLish to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Al Gionfriddo and $100,000.

January 15, 1948: Sent by the Pittsburgh Pirates to San Francisco (PCL) to complete an earlier deal made on September 20, 1947.
