July 20, 1972: Traded by the Oakland Athletics with a player to be named later and Marty Martinez to the Texas Rangers for a player to be named later, Ted Kubiak and Don Mincher. The Oakland Athletics sent Steve Lawson (July 26, 1972) to the Texas Rangers to complete the trade.

October 25, 1973: Traded by the Texas Rangers with Bill Madlock to the Chicago Cubs for Fergie Jenkins.
