April 9, 1965: Selected off waivers by the New York Mets from the Los Angeles Dodgers as first-year waiver pick.

February 5, 1969: Traded by the New York Mets with cash to the Seattle Pilots for a player to be named later. The Seattle Pilots sent Jim Gosger (July 14, 1969) to the New York Mets to complete the trade.

July 14, 1970: Purchased by the Washington Senators from the Milwaukee Brewers.

November 3, 1970: Traded by the Washington Senators with Gene Martin and Jeff Terpko to the Philadelphia Phillies for a player to be named later and Curt Flood. The Philadelphia Phillies sent Jeff Terpko (April 10, 1971) to the Washington Senators to complete the trade.
