December 2, 1963: Drafted by the New York Mets from the Minnesota Twins in the 1963 first-year draft.

June 12, 1967: Traded by the New York Mets with a player to be named later to the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named later and Bob Hendley. The New York Mets sent John Stephenson (June 17, 1967) to the Chicago Cubs to complete the trade.

March 30, 1968: Traded by the Chicago Cubs to the Cleveland Indians for Bobby Tiefenauer.

June 12, 1969: Traded by the Cleveland Indians to the New York Yankees for John Orsino.

April 9, 1971: Traded by the New York Yankees with Ron Klimkowski to the Oakland Athletics for Felipe Alou.

May 26, 1971: Traded by the Oakland Athletics to the New York Yankees for Curt Blefary.
