June 15, 1951: Traded by the St. Louis Cardinals with Dick Cole, Bill Howerton, Howie Pollet and Ted Wilks to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Cliff Chambers and Wally Westlake.

June 4, 1953: Traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates with Ralph Kiner, Catfish Metkovich and Howie Pollet to the Chicago Cubs for Bob Addis, Toby Atwell, George Freese, Gene Hermanski, Bob Schultz, Preston Ward and $150,000.

September 8, 1954: Selected off waivers by the New York Giants from the Chicago Cubs.
