Before 1950 Season: Sent from Atlanta (Southern Association) to the Boston Braves in an unknown transaction.

October 6, 1953: Sent to the Cincinnati Reds by the Milwaukee Braves as part of a conditional deal.

June 23, 1958: Sent by the Cincinnati Redlegs to the Los Angeles Dodgers to complete an earlier deal made on June 15, 1958. The Cincinnati Redlegs sent players to be named later, Steve Bilko and Johnny Klippstein to the Los Angeles Dodgers for players to be named later and Don Newcombe. The Cincinnati Redlegs sent Art Fowler (June 23, 1958) and Charlie Rabe (June 23, 1958) to the Los Angeles Dodgers to complete the trade.
