June 12, 1927: Traded by the New York Giants with Kent Greenfield and Hugh McQuillan to the Boston Braves for Larry Benton, Zack Taylor and Herb Thomas.

June 14, 1929: Traded by the Boston Braves to the New York Giants for Jimmy Welsh.

April 10, 1930: Traded by the New York Giants with Showboat Fisher to the St. Louis Cardinals for Wally Roettger.

June 29, 1930: Selected off waivers by the Chicago Cubs from the St. Louis Cardinals.

December 19, 1934: Sent by the New York Yankees to San Francisco (PCL) to complete an earlier deal made on November 21, 1934. The New York Yankees sent players to be named later and cash to San Francisco (PCL) for Joe DiMaggio. Doc Farrell refused to report to his new team on 1935.
