July 31, 1989: Traded by the New York Mets with a player to be named later, Rick Aguilera, Kevin Tapani and David West to the Minnesota Twins for a player to be named later and Frank Viola. The New York Mets sent Jack Savage (October 16, 1989) to the Minnesota Twins to complete the trade.
