December 14, 1960: Drafted by the Los Angeles Angels from the Baltimore Orioles in the 1960 expansion draft.

December 2, 1966: Traded by the California Angels with a player to be named later to the Minnesota Twins for Pete Cimino, Jimmie Hall and Don Mincher. The California Angels sent Jackie Hernandez (April 10, 1967) to the Minnesota Twins to complete the trade.

December 10, 1969: Traded by the Minnesota Twins with Bob Miller, Graig Nettles and Ted Uhlaender to the Cleveland Indians for Luis Tiant and Stan Williams.

September 18, 1970: Purchased by the New York Mets from the Cleveland Indians.

March 30, 1971: Traded by the New York Mets with Bill Denehy to the Detroit Tigers for Jerry Robertson.
