June 1, 1988: Drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 13th round of the 1988 amateur draft, but did not sign.

June 3, 1991: Drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 4th round of the 1991 amateur draft. Player signed June 10, 1991.

November 18, 1994: Traded by the Cleveland Indians with a player to be named later, Jerry Dipoto and Dave Mlicki to the New York Mets for a player to be named later, Jeromy Burnitz and Joe Roa. The Cleveland Indians sent Jesus Azuaje (minors) (December 6, 1994) to the New York Mets to complete the trade.
