December 2, 1963: Drafted by the Chicago Cubs from the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1963 first-year draft.
December 21, 1964: Purchased by the St. Louis Cardinals from the Chicago Cubs.
December 3, 1968: Traded by the St. Louis Cardinals with Phil Knuckles (minors), Ron Davis and Ed Spiezio to the San Diego Padres for Dave Giusti.
June 30, 1969: Purchased by the Cincinnati Reds from the San Diego Padres.
November 30, 1970: Traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the Chicago Cubs for Willie Smith.
March 27, 1973: Purchased by the San Diego Padres from the Chicago Cubs.
December 10, 1974: Sent by the San Diego Padres to the St. Louis Cardinals to complete an earlier deal made on November 18, 1974. The San Diego Padres sent a player to be named later and Ed Brinkman to the St. Louis Cardinals for Rich Folkers, Alan Foster and Sonny Siebert.
