Before 1953 Season: Signed by the St. Louis Cardinals as an amateur free agent.

June 14, 1956: Traded by the St. Louis Cardinals with a player to be named later, Dick Littlefield, Bill Sarni and Red Schoendienst to the New York Giants for Alvin Dark, Ray Katt, Don Liddle and Whitey Lockman. The St. Louis Cardinals sent Gordon Jones (October 1, 1956) to the New York Giants to complete the trade.

November 30, 1959: Traded by the San Francisco Giants with Gordon Jones and Roger McCardell to the Baltimore Orioles for Billy Loes and Billy O'Dell.

December 6, 1965: Traded by the Baltimore Orioles with Darold Knowles to the Philadelphia Phillies for Jack Baldschun.

June 9, 1967: Purchased by the Houston Astros from the Philadelphia Phillies.

September 9, 1967: Released by the Houston Astros.
