August, 1908: Purchased by the Cincinnati Reds from Dayton (Central) for $1,800. (Date given is approximate. Exact date is uncertain.)

December 12, 1913: Traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the New York Giants for Grover Hartley and Buck Herzog.

March 25, 1915: Sent by the New York Giants to the St. Louis Cardinals to complete an earlier deal made on February 18, 1915. The New York Giants sent players to be named later to the St. Louis Cardinals for players to be named later and Pol Perritt. The New York Giants sent Bob Bescher (March 25, 1915) and cash (March 25, 1915) to the St. Louis Cardinals to complete the trade.

July 3, 1917: Sent by the St. Louis Cardinals to Milwaukee (American Association) to complete an earlier deal made on July 1, 1917. The St. Louis Cardinals sent a player to be named later, Sam Bohne, Paddy Livingston and cash to Milwaukee (American Association) for a player to be named later and Marv Goodwin. The St. Louis Cardinals sent Bob Bescher (July 3, 1917) to Milwaukee (American Association) to complete the trade.
