July 19, 1950: Purchased by the New York Yankees from Kansas City (Negro American).

August, 1951: Sent from the New York Yankees to the St. Louis Browns in an unknown transaction.

Before 1953 Season: Returned to Toronto (International) by the St. Louis Browns after expiration of minor league working agreement.

October 1, 1956: Traded by Toronto (International) to the St. Louis Cardinals for a player to be named later, Jim Pearce and cash. The St. Louis Cardinals sent Rocky Nelson (March 21, 1957) to Toronto (International) to complete the trade. (Date given is approximate. Exact date is uncertain.)

May 19, 1960: Purchased by the Chicago White Sox from the St. Louis Cardinals.

December 15, 1961: Traded by the Chicago White Sox with Andy Carey to the Philadelphia Phillies for Taylor Phillips and Bob Sadowski. Andy Carey refused to report to his new team on March 24, 1962. The Philadelphia Phillies sent Lou Vassie (minors) (March 24, 1962) to the Chicago White Sox to complete the trade. The Chicago White Sox sent Cal McLish (March 24, 1962) to the Philadelphia Phillies to complete the trade.
