November 26, 1962: Drafted by the Washington Senators from the Cincinnati Reds in the 1962 first-year draft.

March 21, 1970: Traded by the Washington Senators to the Minnesota Twins for Joe Grzenda and Charlie Walters.

November 29, 1971: Drafted by the Oakland Athletics from the Minnesota Twins in the 1971 rule 5 draft.

May 18, 1972: Traded by the Oakland Athletics to the St. Louis Cardinals for Marty Martinez. Brant Alyea returned to original team on July 23, 1972.

November 30, 1972: Sent by the Oakland Athletics to the Texas Rangers to complete an earlier deal made on October 30, 1972. The Oakland Athletics sent a player to be named later and Bill McNulty to the Texas Rangers for Paul Lindblad.
