June 8, 1971: Drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 23rd round of the 1971 amateur draft, but did not sign.

January 12, 1972: Drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 2nd round of the 1972 amateur draft (January Secondary).

March 15, 1978: Traded by the San Francisco Giants with a player to be named later, Dave Heaverlo, Phil Huffman, John Henry Johnson, Gary Thomasson, Alan Wirth and $300,000 to the Oakland Athletics for Vida Blue. The San Francisco Giants sent Mario Guerrero (April 7, 1978) to the Oakland Athletics to complete the trade.

June 15, 1978: Traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Cleveland Indians for Joe Wallis.

December 9, 1980: Traded by the Cleveland Indians with Victor Cruz, Bob Owchinko and Rafael Vasquez to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Bert Blyleven and Manny Sanguillen.

April 2, 1982: Released by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
