For batting rate stats, generally a minimum of 3.1 Plate Appearances/G, 1.0 IP/G, 0.67 Gm and Chances/Team Game (fielding), 0.2 SB att/Team Game (catchers), and 0.1 SB att/Team Game (baserunners only since 1951), and 0.1 decision/G for single-season leaderboards generally needed for rate statistics. For pitcher fielding the minimums are reduced by a third. For LF, CF, RF fielding stats, we only have reliable data since 1954, so all leaders are since 1954. Explanation of min. requirements

Minimum of 1000 IP, 3000 PA, 500 games (fielding), 200 stolen base attempts (catchers) or 80 stolen base attempts (baserunners only since 1951) or 100 decisions for career and active leaderboards for rate statistics.

This table lists the career, single-season, active, yearly (meaning performances solely from that year) leaders following each season of Major League Baseball. Note that a player is considered active between the first and last season of their career. Entries under Single-Season from 1871-1875 are not carried forward past 1875. Entries under Career and Active do include totals from the 1871-1875 seasons.
