December 12, 1980: Traded by the Milwaukee Brewers with David Green, Dave LaPoint, and Lary Sorensen to the St. Louis Cardinals for Pete Vuckovich, Rollie Fingers, and Ted Simmons.

December 10, 1981: Traded by the St. Louis Cardinals with a player to be named later and Garry Templeton to the San Diego Padres for a player to be named later, Ozzie Smith, and Steve Mura.
