Ziliang Li pitched for the Chinese national team in the 2009 Asian Championship. With his hometown Tianjin Lions, he was named Rookie of the Year in the 2010 China Baseball League. He started against the Japanese national team in the first round of the 2010 Asian Games and shut them out for five innings before Pei Wang relieved him in the 6th and Japan went on to win.
