Zack Segovia made his major league debut as the starting pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies on April 8, 2007 against the Florida Marlins. He was charged with the loss after allowing 5 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings and was sent to the AAA Ottawa Lynx after the game.
In 2006, he went 16-6, split between Single A and Double A ball. He spent the fall with Team USA. In the qualifying tourney for the 2008 Olympics, he was 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA and tied for the Team USA lead in wins.
