Yoshizou Oribe was a light-hitting catcher and outfielder in the Japanese Professional Baseball League from 1939-42. He hit .117/.229/.133 in 80 games for the 1939 Tokyo Senators, with only 4 doubles as his extra-base hits. In '40, Oribe batted .178/.327/.203 in a career-high 101 games for Tsubasa. With Taiyo in 1941, he hit .184/.256/.211 in 82 contests, then moved up to .198/.280/.253 in 75 games for Taiyo in his final season. He entered the Japanese military and died in combat in World War II.
