Yong-chan Lee won a Gold Medal with South Korea at the 2006 World Junior Championship. He debuted in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2008, going 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA; he allowed 7 hits in 14 2/3 IP. In 2009, Lee was 0-2 with 26 saves and a 4.20 ERA in 51 games for the Doosan Bears, allowing 33 hits in 40 2/3 innings. He tied Jon Adkins for the league lead in saves. He was named the KBO Rookie of the Year.
