Yonata Ortega is a minor league relief pitcher currently (November 24, 2010) on the Arizona Diamondbacks active roster.

Ortega was signed to the Arizona Diamondbacks by scout Junior Noboa. Yonata began his professional career in 2005, playing for the DSL Diamondbacks, going 0-1 with a 3.77 ERA in 8 games (2 starts). With the same club in 2006, he went 2-7 with a 3.43 ERA in 14 games (11 starts). In 2007, he pitched for the Missoula Osprey, going 0-2 with a save and a 6.40 ERA in 19 relief appearances. He did not play in 2008 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. In 2009, Ortega pitched for the South Bend Silver Hawks, going 0-2 with a save and a 6.87 ERA in 30 relief appearances. He split 2010 between the Silver Hawks and Visalia Rawhide, going a combined 4-4 with 33 saves and a 3.48 ERA in 48 relief appearances. Despite spending only part of the season there, he led the Midwest League with 22 saves.
