Yoelkis Cruz Rondón

Yoelkis Cruz has been a starter for Las Tunas in the Cuban Serie Nacional.

In 2007-2008, Cruz was dominant with a 13-1, 3.52 record. He tied Jonder Martínez for second in the league in wins (2 behind Yulieski González) and trailed only González in winning percentage. He tied for second in complete games (5) and was 5th in innings (128). He also won the Gold Glove at pitcher.

Through that year, he was 37-30 with 3 saves and a 4.57 ERA in five seasons in Cuba.

As excellent as Cruz was in 2007-2008, he was that bad in 2008-2009, going 5-13 with a 5.91 ERA. He led the league in losses, hits allowed (165), runs (100) and earned runs (88) and was second in innings (134). He tied for 6th with four complete games.

Cruz had a mixed bag in 2009-2010, going 10-6 with a 5.36 ERA. He was tied for fifth in the league in wins and 5th in innings (127 2/3) while leading in hits allowed (158) and earned runs allowed (76) and finishing second in runs allowed (82, behind Ubisney Bermúdez).
