Yasuo Yoshida played in Nippon Pro Baseball from 1986-1996.
After high school, Yoshida played for Mitsubishi Motors Kawasaki in the industrial leagues. He was with Japan for the 1984 Amateur World Series, hitting .217/.280/.304 as their starting catcher, and remained with them when they finished first in the 1984 Olympics.
A fifth-round pick in 1985, Yoshida debuted with the Hanshin Tigers in 1986, playing three games but not batting. He was 2 for 9 in 1988. In 58 games and 96 plate appearances in 1989, Yoshida hit .150/.269/.175. He fell to 42 games and 31 plate appearances in 1990 and batted .154/.214/.192. He was 1 for 2 in 12 games in 1991 and did not play in 1992-1993. He was 2 for 9 over 8 games from 1994 through 1996 then retired. He became a coach with Hanshin after retiring.
