Yank Terry, born Lancelot Yank Terry, pitched five years for the Boston Red Sox, mostly during wartime. A little more than half his appearances were as a starter. He was 20-28 with a 4.09 ERA over this period. He had one winning season in 1942 at 6-5 and a 3.92 ERA.
Yank had 13 seasons in professional baseball (1934-1946). Ten of those were in the minors where he went 85-77. His best year came in 1941 with the San Diego Padres of the Pacific Coast League, when he went 26-8 with a 2.31 ERA.
Most of Yank's playing time was spent in the Pacific Coast League and the American Association.
