Yamid Haad is the seventh of eight Colombians to make the major leagues. He has played 12 seasons in the minors and a couple in the majors. In December 2006 he signed a minor league contract with the Devil Rays organization and is currently playing for the Buffalo Bisons in 2008.
Played in one game for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1999. Was an emergency callup due to injuries to their top 2 catchers. Joe Oliver was acquired shortly after. Haad returned to the minors where he stayed for 6 more seasons until the San Francisco Giants called him up at the end of July 2005.
Returned to the Big Leagues in 2008 with the Cleveland Indians. He was called up on June 12 but was designated for assignment on June 19 before seeing any playing time.
