Yamal Thomas signed with the Tampa Bay Rays in early 2009. The gargantuan right-hander made his pro debut with the 2009 DSL Rays, going 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA, walking 18 in 13 1/3 innings. He was listed on France's preliminary roster for the 2010 European Championship.
