Founded in 1999, the 'Wisconsin Woodchucks are one of the of the longest-running franchises in the Northwoods Summer Collegiate Baseball League. The Woodchucks make their home in Wausau, WI and offer quality baseball to a town which has not had a minor league team since the departure of the Wausau Timbers of the Midwest League following the 1990 season.

The Woodchucks operate in somewhat the same manor as a minor league team (in terms of road trips, wood bats, size of ballpark and some other elements) and offer increased competition for some of the nation's premier college players to gain wooden bat experience and prepare for careers in professional baseball.
