" 'Wingo' got away with a rush, fanning Devore in jig shape." - from the New York Times June 2, 1910 account of the previous day's game, where Anderson began his relief stint by striking out Josh Devore
Wingo Anderson appeared in 7 games with the National League 1910 Cincinnati Reds. The left-handed pitcher got in 17.3 innings, gave up 16 hits, 17 base on balls, struck out 11 batters, allowed 9 earned runs and had a 4.67 ERA. He failed to win or lose a game.
Wingo showed up in 1911 with the Southern Association Nashville Volunteers where he won 10 and lost 8 for a .556 percentage. He also had 11 hits in 54 at bats for a .204 average. There is no further information, at this time, on "Wingo."
