[edit] Biographical Information

Wimpy Quinn died of cancer at age 36. He was a first baseman in the minors from 1939-1951, hitting .300 six times, three times topping 20 homers and driving in 100 or more runs 4 times, including two seasons of 150+. He only pitched from 1940-1942 and was never exclusively a pitcher in the minors. Oddly, all three of his major league appearances came on the mound.

He did hit .500 in the majors (1-for-2).
