Wilton Veras played for the Lowell Spinners (property of the Boston Red Sox) in single "A" short season before making it to the big leagues for two short stints with the Red Sox in 1999 and 2000.
In 2009, Veras hit in 29 consecutive games, breaking Gary Burnham's record for a foreigner in the Chinese Professional Baseball League; Burnham's mark had been 23 games. In both 2005 and 2009, he was honored as the Best Ten pick at third base in the CPBL. Down to .238 in 2010, he was let go in August.
